Earthic by SilestoneXM is the result of Cosentino’s research project in collaboration with Formafantasma, which revolutionizes the process of transforming recycled and sustainable materials into something remarkably new within the surfacing industry.
Representing the next generation of mineral Hybriq surfaces, SilestoneXM distinguishes colours and collections brought to the market by having a maximum crystalline silica content of 10 per cent. And, thanks to Cosentino’s Hybriq+ technology, the Earthic collection is also produced with 100 per cent renewable electrical energy and 99 per cent recycled water.
Earthic is a capsule collection that offers a new concept design, with an advanced composition of up to 30 per cent recycled materials including: recycled glass, PET, bio-resin and Dekton fragments. By using recycled discarded Dekton fragments, the extraction of new raw materials is avoided.
Moreover, when manufacturing the surfaces, post-consumer bio-resin (between 16 per cent and 23 per cent) derived from vegetable oil and recycled cooking oil is used, as well as plastic bottles, which are transformed into distinctive scales that reveal their unique characteristics on the surface.
Earthic is divided into two colour collections. FFROM X FORMAFANTASMA, a three-colour series, reflects the material’s origin and sourcing as well as the process of transforming recycled materials into something new.
FFROM 01 is a grey surface speckled with white recycled PET fragments, creating a subtle yet intricate pattern that draws the eye and adds depth to its composition.
A darker tone of grey elegantly punctuated with white accents, FFROM 02 creates a visually attractive contrast; a shade of grey with a sense of modernity and minimalism.
Finally, FFROM 03 is a mesmerizing yet elegant anthracite background with recycled PET scales scattered across the surface, resembling the night sky or a geological specimen.
The Raw x Cosentino series, meanwhile, includes patterns and colours that capture the material essence in its most authentic state, combined with shapes that express a new aesthetic.
RAW A is endowed with a soft dark veined pattern over a white background that reveals an intricate design evoking a sense of natural elegance, reminiscent of refined stones found in nature.
RAW G is a serene and natural concrete canvas with subtle copper touches intertwined with nebulous veins that add a sense of fluidity.
A dark natural rock backdrop provides a mood of tranquility and solid elegance in RAW D, in which diffused streaks of bronze weaves through a charcoal landscape.
