Our 13th annual AZ Awards program is a landmark vintage. Drawing over 1,000 submissions from around the world, the 2023 edition celebrates more winners than ever, with a record-breaking 26 AZ Awards winners lauded alongside 57 Awards of Merit. For the first time since 2019, we’ve also been able to fête our winners and finalists with a gala at Toronto’s Evergreen Brick Works.

And we had plenty to celebrate. This year’s winners represent the best in Canadian and international design, addressing urgent problems and embracing new possibilities in a wide range of contexts and disciplines. Our esteemed jury selected winners in 24 categories, including two draws — in the A+ Student Award and Buildings Over 1,000 sqm — which reflect this year’s exceptional calibre of talent.
