MKV Design, founded in London by Maria Vafiadis, has collaborated with Italian lighting-maker Contardi to update its Discus lighting collection with refined finishes and technical advancements. 

Originally released in 2022, the Discus light collection is an elegant series that strikes the perfect balance between contemporary styling and high performance. 

Paying meticulous attention to detail, MKV Design and Contardi evolved the Discus collection of pendant lamps, wall sconces and ceiling lights with a new opal diffuser that expands light emission, improves light distribution and offers a more uniform illumination. 

Defined by a minimalist look, the Discus light is composed of two metal discs in either white lacquer or silk matte black that sandwich a band of gleaming semi-polished brass, which lends the fixture a sophisticated note; the centre metallic band is also available in satin brass, brushed bronze-nickel, polished nickel, satin gold nickel and polished gold, and can also be custom coloured from the RAL palette. 

The white opal diffuser is found in the middle of the light fixture and spreads light in an even array. Suitable for use in both residential and high-end commercial settings, the Discus collection by MKV Design for Contardi offers a 3000 Kelvin lighting option that delivers a warm and pleasant white light and is compatible with multiple dimming technologies.

Multiple sizes for each version of the Discus light are available to suit a wide range of interior applications and needs.
